NeedleNita
There are some yarn bomb projects that I'd just prefer not to use video tape for. Tree sweaters, for instance, just don't seem environmentally correct done in blatant plastics like video tape. Somehow acrylic yarn and other fibers are a better mental fit. Also, when I'm teaching classes in knitted graffiti, or introducing the sport to newbies, more traditional yarns are more relevant.
When I'm placing a yarn bomb made of yarn, the handle of VideoKnitter doesn't seem to fit. That's where my alternate handle comes in. When I was a girl my grandmother would often call for me to help her by saying "I need a Nita," and my term for knit/crochet/sewing as a child was "needling." Thus the name "NeedleNita."

FutureSelf Yarn Bombs
Installed: 5/13/11
Location: Inside Acacia Park and adjacent blocks
Leading up to International Yarn Bomb Day (June 11, 2011) I will be teaching some stitch-n-bitch sessions and two yarn bomb workshops. To promote these sessions it only seemed reasonable to engage in some geurilla marketing utilizing yarn bombs. Abby, the executive director for FutureSelf, and I went out this afternoon and installed six bombs in a two block area around their office.
All of them carried this label.

Installed 5/6/11
Location: Nancy Lewis Park, Colorado Springs, CO
The first tree sweater I put up back in November was looking really ratty. So I made a new sweater for the tree, removed the old sweater, and replaced it.
